Failure is not an option

Reflecting on Turning 51!

For those of you who know me, I wasn’t happy to turn 50 and now (in a blink of an eye), I am 51!  Did you know that I raced my first IRONMAN at the age of 49!  Who does that kind of thing?  Well, I felt like a fat potato doing nothing to challenge myself.  Wow, how things have changed!  Now I am trying to get to IRONMAN Kona in 2017 and I spend so much time swimming, biking and running.  Mile after mile I get to reflect and raise money to Make a Difference through the IRONMAN Foundation.

Thank you to all my friends for a great birthday!  Turning 51 wasn’t so bad.

Mother’s Day

My son Matthew posted this video to his Facebook page on Mother’s Day.  Though I am late in posting it, it made me feel so good.   One item he mentions in the video is that after months of additional tests, I am cancer free!  I have done so much reflecting since the beginning of the year.  I know one thing for sure, racing in Kona is a dream I will not let sit any longer.  Hopefully each one of you will consider sponsoring me as I race IRONMAN Ecuador and IRONMAN Arizona.  All your donations are 100% tax deductible.  I would love to talk to you more about my quest if you would like to get together.  Thank you so much!

First Race of the Season

My first triathlon of the season will be down in Manta Ecuador on July 31st.  I signed up for this race as part of a family vacation and to train for IRONMAN Arizona.  Then, to my surprise, my husband and two of our boys also signed up!  They are going to kill it and I am planning on just finishing!  The bike part is all about climbing!  Therefore, you will probably find me climbing Dear Creek Canyon quite a bit over the next three months.
